Lugger and Trailer Driver - AZ

Ram Iron & Metal Inc. – Toronto, ON

Two (2) Full time Commercial Driver: One (1) Permanent & One (1) 3-6 months contract

HOURS OF WORK:

Primary working hours will be between Monday to Friday 5:45am to 5:00pm

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

This position entails driving and sitting for extended period of time

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Haul metal waste from various commercial customers within Ontario.

• Mount and dismount heavy truck several times a day.

• Check all delivery slips and scale tickets thoroughly to avoid any load downgrading.

• Other duties as assigned by Dispatch

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

• Must have AZ Licence

• Minimum of Two (2) years of experience

• Good standing of CVOR

• Ability to read, write and speak English

• Good spatial skills

• Ability to drive/work outside in all weather condition

• Ability to adapt and adjust to various assignments as requested by Supervisor

Heavy Equipment Mechanic

Ram Iron & Metal Inc. – Toronto, ON

Full time & Permanent Heavy Equipment Mechanic

HOURS OF WORK:

Primary working hours will be between Monday to Friday 6:00am to 5:00pm, alternating Saturdays.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

This position requires occasion travel between company sites, work may be performed indoor and outdoor under various weather condition.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Check, cranes, trucks, material handlers, shears, trailers, lift trucks, loaders, skid-steers, bailers, trommell and other equipment for safe and proper functionalities.
• Inspect and repair equipment with faults and malfunctions.
• Diagnose faults or malfunctions to determine the extent of repair required.
• Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts, components or systems, using hand and power tools.
• Test repaired equipment for proper performance and ensure that work meets manufacturer’s specifications.
• Maintain attachments and working tools such as blades, winches, grapples, buckets, claws, forks, booms, and rotators to manufacturing specifications.
• Perform repair work on heavy trucks, heavy equipment, devices and things.
• Inspect and test operation of instruments and systems to diagnose faults using pneumatic, mechanical and electronic testing devices and precision measuring instruments.
• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance work and complete test and maintenance reports.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

• Heavy Duty Mechanic Certificate (421A) or equivalent is a definite asset
• 3-5 years of experience in heavy equipment repair, service and diagnosis on heavy equipment, including, but not limited to: metal baler, Bobcat, crane, shear
• Must possess valid G driver’s license with good standing in driver abstract
• Ability to weld is an asset
• Forklift Certificate is an asset
• First Aid/CPR Certificate is an asset
• Heavy Equipment Certificate is an asset
• Experience working in a scrap yard is an asset.
• Ability to certify company equipment in accordance with provincial standards OR become certified to do so.

Heavy Equipment Operator - Crane

Crane Operator (Sennebogen or Liehberr)

Full time and permanent Heavy Equipment Operator.

HOURS OF WORK:

Hours of work include morning shift: Monday to Friday from 5:45am to 4:30pm, and alternating Saturdays from 5:45am to 12:00.pm. or afternoon shift Monday to Friday 4:00pm to 2:00am.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Perform a daily pre-inspection of equipment, record the results
• Perform some preventative maintenance on equipment (i.e. greasing)
• Ensure piles are safely piled to avoid material from falling or piling down
• Able to interpret and use hand signals and voice to communicate with others
• Ability to perform various types of physical labour including moderate to heavy lifting, standing, bending, shoveling, etc
• Able to exercise good judgment in load handling, placement of equipment and material
• Able to interpret and use hand signals and voice to communicate with others

• Minimum three (3) years of experience operating heavy equipment (crane)
• Minimum of two (2) years of experience working outdoor year round

Full time and permanent experienced General Labour, ideally with scrap metal experience in non ferrous.

HOURS OF WORK:

Hours of work include morning shift: Monday to Friday from 7:00am to 4:30pm, and alternating Saturdays from 7:00am to 12:00.pm.

LOCATION OF WORK:

North York – 1 Vacancy

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

This position entails working year round, in both outdoor and indoor elements.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

While performing the duties of this job, the incumbent is regularly required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, lift and carry. The incumbent must be able to regularly and repetitively lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and work regularly in the standing position.
The position requires occasional climbing, balance, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

•  Identify and sort various metals
•  Feed and bale metal material
•  Assist in performing inventory on materials
•  General duties involving physical handling of product, materials, supplies and equipment
•  Perform general housekeeping as required.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

• Minimum of one (1) year experience in general labour, accustomed to repetitive movements and lifting
• Minimum of one (1) year of Experience with scrap metal, preferably with non ferrous
• Experience and certificate in operating a forklift is a definite asset
• Experience working outdoor, year round is an asset

CERTIFICATIONS:

• Preferably with valid forklift certificate
• First Aid and CPR Certificate is an asset
• WHMIS certificate is an asset
